An absolute page turner!
I had a feeling when I started Torn Veil, Shari T. Mitchell's exciting sequel to Divine Guidance, that I wouldn't be able to put it down. I wasn't wrong, and I probably read until well past 2:00am the first night I picked it up. Shari beautifully weaves the town of Creekwood and its residents into a place the reader can visualize, and the vivid descriptions of her cast of characters makes them pop off the pages and come to life. I felt like I was reading about people I knew (and at one point, I believe there were some dogs mentioned that I do know!) Where Divine Guidance introduced its readers to Marnie's tough and feisty character, Torn Veil shows us a bit more of her fragile side, too - for example, the prospect of spending the night in the local hospital brings Marnie to tears when she learns that her faithful canine sidekick, Tater, cannot stay with her. Marnie's level-headedness keeps her rational throughout all of the madness that her antagonists provide, but she might need to tap into her psychic senses to know who the real wolf in sheep's clothing is. Suspenseful and intense, this was a book I could not put down. Hoping there will be further installments in the saga of Marnie Reilly and friends!

I love this book as much as the first (Divine Guidance). It is a real page turner. I love the paranormal aspect of both books, it really keeps you hooked and lets your imagination run wild. I did not want it to end so I had to read it again! I can't wait until the next one comes out to see what the characters are up to now. Maybe a little romance with Marnie and Danny? Don't wait any longer to read these books; you will be glad you did!!!
“Torn Veil picks up where Divine Guidance leaves off… I love the way Shari T. Mitchell writes. Divine Guidance flows into Torn Veil, and further developed some of the shared characters. I had the feeling that I was reading about my hometown, any hometown, getting to know the people and places that together set the stage for an exciting tale of mystery and suspense that hooked me from the start. I look forward to seeing where Shari T. Mitchell’s creativity takes us to next time.”
“Want suspense? You got it! I love reading suspense novels with twists and turns, and Torn Veil has many! The characters are well developed and I love the foreshadowing that Shari T Mitchell craftily weaves into the story. This is a great sequel to Divine Guidance, a must read!”
“Torn Veil won’t disappoint! A fantastic follow up to Shari T Mitchell’s debut novel, Divine Guidance. Torn Veil kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last page. A great mix of characters, magic, and suspense. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and looking forward to future offerings by this author! Maybe a new adventure for Marnie, Tater and friends?”
