They taught me how to keep readers guessing until the last page.
The Woods Are Lovely, Dark, and Deep
An article about my favorite authors would not be complete without my favorite poet, Robert Frost.
His words haunt me and my main character, Marnie Reilly, because he is mentioned and quoted in every one of my books. Leaving him out of this library would be daft.
His work stays with me because he understood rural life, isolation, hard choices, and consequences. That influence runs through Creekwood.
And while his atmospheric doom and gloom doesn’t suit everyone, this thriller author laps it up. Besides, once upon a time, my mother would read his poetry to me and my sisters. Mr. Frost’s words are comforting.
