Q: What’s your full name?

A: Melody Winters

Q: How old are you?

A: 28

Q: When’s your birthday?

A: 7TH October

Q: Where were you born?

A: Eden Falls

Q: Are you a main character?

A: Yes

Q: Do you have any nicknames?

A: My friends call me Melly or Little Red and Roman (my other half) calls me Little Mouse.

Q: Do you have a catchphrase?

A: Something Roman and I always say to each other is- where one goes, the other follows.

Q: What do you do for work/career?

A: I’m the Goddess of Dark Magic

magic

Q: Without giving anything away, do you have scars? Physical or emotional?

A: I think we’re all a little broken, myself included. I wear all physical and emotional scars with pride- they mean I survived.

Q: What do you know about your backstory so far?

A: My parents gave me up when I was barely 24 hours old. They gave me to their good friends to raise- Eddie and Marcus. They were going to keep me safe and hidden from my grandmother, who wanted nothing more than to kill me, the way she killed my parents. My group were given no choice but to join a group we once saw as enemies to fight the real enemy, my grandmother and the magical council. That’s where I met Roman. We were born enemies, made to hate each other. Hate and love are very close, though.

Q: Describe where you live?

A: I live in the Shadow Lands- Roman’s home. My group made this place home when we joined with Roman’s people. It was once barren, void of all life. My magic has changed that a little, though.

Q: How many stories have you been in?

A: Three

The Wanderer Series

Q: Plans for future stories?

A: A spin off for one of the side characters in book three.

Q: As a character, who is your favorite character in your stories?

A: My fathers, Eddie and Marcus. They are morally impeccable, but completely different in nature. I am everything I am because of them. I might not have had my parents growing up, but I never missed out on love. I was loved entirely.

Q: Do you have superpowers or defining traits you’d like to share?

A: I have the powers of a goddess. I am the goddess of dark magic. I pull my magic from the earth, the elements and anything that holds memories. I can wander in the minds of others and there’s nobody, except Roman, that can best me in a fight. He has an advantage nobody else has, though.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

A: I wish I could turn back time temporarily. I would love to meet my parents.

Q: Are you a good guy/gal or a bad guy/gal?

A: I pride my self on my morals. I am a good gal.

Q: Any archenemies you can tell us about?

A: My grandmother, Morag. She killed my parents and has hunted me since the moment she knew I existed. Her and the magical council want me dead. They want everyone that isn’t a full blooded magical creature dead.

Q: How about a love interest? Do you have a significant other?

A: I do. His name is Roman. He is leader of the Grigori, and my enemy for most of my life. We joined our groups together to fight my grandmother and the magical council and, although we fought it hard, we fell in love.

Q: Do you have any phobias?

A: I can’t swim, so I’m scared of the water. Some of my most special memories are in the ocean with Roman, but I’d sink right to the bottom without him.

Q: Do you ever lie? Or are you always truthful?

A: No. I don’t lie.

Q: Do you have a best friend? If so, could you tell us about them? Their traits?

A: I’m lucky enough to have two best friends, Trix and Lennox. I grew up with both of them, and we’ve walked through life together.

Q: Do you have a pet?

A: I have a black cat called Salem.

Q: Name three things you love.

A: My father’s chocolate brownies, the ocean and Scotch.

Q: Name three things you loathe.

A: The magical council, bigotry and deception.

Q: What’s your favorite food?

A: I’m a big fan of sweet things. I’m more of a snacker than someone who would actually eat a full meal.

Q: What music do you like?

A: I get my music taste from one of my dads, Eddie. He was into metal, and so am I.

Q: If you had a theme song, what would it be?

A: Sleep Token’s Fall for Me- it reminds me of Roman and me.

Q: Do you like to read? What sort of books?

A: I wish I had the time to read books! I’d get lost in a dark fantasy like the one I live in.

Q: Do you drive? If so, what type of vehicle do you have? Or do you walk? Take public transportation?

A: I don’t drive. It was never something we needed to do.

Q: What’s the most beautiful thing you have ever seen?

A: The heart of someone turn from hate to love. It takes a lot to change so much, your opinions change. But, I watched in real time as generational hate was broken and hate turned to love.

Q: What’s the most horrendous thing you have ever seen?

A: Watching someone I love die. I watched some of the most important people in my life being ripped from me, and I couldn’t do a single thing about it.

Q: Does your author make you do stupid things? If so, would you like to share an example?

A: She certainly made me and Roman fight for our love. She also makes me do incredible impulsive things, which are more reckless than impulsive.

Q: If you could visit a fictional place, other than our own, where would you go?

A: I would visit the realm of the fairies from the stories my fathers told me growing up. I’m lucky enough to see magic in everything I touch, but watching the magic from the stories in my memories would be incredible.

Q: Are there other fictional characters you would like to meet?

A: I’d love to meet Jareth from the Labyrinth, but Roman would 100% get jealous and try to fight with him!

Q: Do you ever worry that your author will kill you off?

A: She did, but she brought me back, so I forgive her!

Q: Would the author like to comment on any of the character’s answers?

A: I too would like to meet Jareth!

  1. *applause* Great interview! Melody is awesome, and I personally love that this character doesn’t need to “be evil” or “bad” to be captivating and cool. I also loved the answer she gave for the most beautiful thing she’s ever seen. That’s so lovely!
